Nicole Stewart, Ph.D.
Dr. Nicole Stewart is a co-owner of the practice and brings more than 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and schools. Before transitioning to private practice in clinical psychology, she spent 17 years in public education, developing a deep understanding of the school system, learning, behavior, and child development.
Nicole began her career as an elementary special education teacher, supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges. She later served as a school psychologist for 11 years and held leadership roles in special education administration and as principal of an alternative high school. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Utah in 2010, where her research focused on academic and behavioral interventions.
Throughout her career, Nicole has worked with individuals ranging from preschool through adulthood and has extensive experience supporting a wide variety of learning, developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs. She is particularly passionate about helping children and adolescents better understand their strengths, overcome challenges, and experience success in areas that may have previously felt out of reach.
Nicole's background provides her with a comprehensive understanding of educational systems, including special education services, Section 504 accommodations, and the collaborative process of supporting students across home, school, and community settings. She has expertise in all forms of neurodivergence, including autism spectrum disorders and ADHD. As an adoptive parent herself, she also specializes in attachment and adoption dynamics.
Outside of work, Nicole enjoys taking advantage of everything Utah has to offer, including cycling, running, hiking, and camping.
